I prefer the traditional style with bigger drivers to the modern earplug style with tiny drivers. After my creative earphone was totaled by my 18 month old daughter, I have been looking for a replacement. And this does have big drivers producing warm and smooth sound. With the positive reviews on Amazon, I decided to give this one try. Well, this earphones are just great. I gave 4 star as the high frequency feels not crispy enough for me. However, this is very solid everyday earphone that you can get without breaking your piggy bank.
What a surprisingly good set of cheap phones. The retracting case stiff and does not well retain the cable on the spool. By "better" I mean that the AKGs seem transparent, without the exaggerated highs and lows of the Sonys.
When I first tried these, I was a bit disappointed as I had expected something magical. I wear the AKG all day long. Don't chuck your K240s, but if you need good sound with your portable music, get these buds.
The Sony buds now seem shrill and harsh and I can no longer wear them. But when I compared them to my Sony ear buds, I could not believe how much better these AKGs were. I was content with my Sony's, only buying the AKGs on a whim, and glad I did.
The AKGs little foam cushions come off easily and frequently. If you have an old Sony ear bud case, use it instead.
I was really disappointed with these earbuds. It breaks my heart to give 2 stars to this item. AKG's are ok in mid-tones and trebles.
The new ones that arrived were OK initially, but the distortion problem came about again after a month of use. The AKG headphones I use in studio have never caused trouble in the past 10 years. The first pair that arrived had problems, one of the buds distorted high pitch sounds and medium to high volume.
I've used AKG products before and never had issues. I'm not using them anymore.Regarding sound quality, I bought these to have better earbuds than those that come with creative nano plus mp3 players. The stock creative ones sound way better than this, especially if you like to hear some bass in your music.
I guess this is their lowest end product, so you shouldn't expect typical AKG quality from these headphones.
this one i expected quite a good sound quality before i bought reading fromrevies but did not make it enough to my expectation after listening comparing with SONY md series even basic MD model.bass is thin and others are quite OKies.treble and mid.less dynamic also.
For $18 you can't go wrong with these earbuds. After I broke my iPod earbuds I was forced to use my closed ear headphones and they are just too large and hot to wear outside. After searching around a bit I was delighted to find the AKG K12P earbuds. I will admit though, I don't know what they meant by "turbobass" because the bass doesn't seem to be that great but thats fine with me because I rarely listen to bass heavy music. Overall these are really great earbuds and I'm really happy with my purchase.
